We arrived from abroad at the bus station in Kyiv and immediately transferred to our pre-booked bus to Podil. The half-dilapidated bus station with its filthy restroom left an extremely negative impression, but the Zelenyi Slon bus departing from there was the complete opposite—like two different worlds. The driver was smartly dressed, polite, and attentive. He helped us stow our suitcases in the luggage compartment and gave us numbered tags—a very smart solution to prevent any mix-ups. The bus was clean, smelled pleasant, had comfortable seats and a comfortable temperature, and there were phone-charging outlets above every seat. The driver even offered a charging cable if someone didn’t have one. Drinking water was provided as well, and the driver handed out vouchers for tea or coffee at the WOG gas station as a courtesy from the carrier. He drove carefully and tried to stick to the schedule. In short, we were VERY pleasantly surprised by such good service, even compared with an international carrier.
