Rules for crossing the border during quarantine to the Republic of Poland

Ukrainian citizens who currently have the right to enter the Republic of Poland are required to observe a 10-day quarantine after crossing the border, provided they have no clinical symptoms of illness.

EXEMPTIONS FROM THE OBLIGATION TO QUARANTINE after entering Poland APPLY TO:

  • persons who have a certificate confirming they have been vaccinated against COVID-19;
  • persons who have received a negative PCR test result for coronavirus taken no earlier than 48 hours before crossing the border;
  • drivers and crew members of air, rail, maritime, and motor vehicles whose professional activity is related to international passenger, freight, or combined transport and who enter Poland in the course of their official duties;
  • maritime administration inspectors who enter Poland in the course of their official duties;
  • passengers of vessels operating between ports of the Member States of the European Union, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) — Parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, without calling at ports of third countries;
  • persons studying in Poland (pupils + one accompanying person, students, listeners, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates), as well as researchers conducting studies in Poland (subject to documentary confirmation of study/research activity);
  • persons who in January 2021 are taking the eighth-grade exam held in adult schools where studies end in the autumn semester;
  • employees of diplomatic and consular missions, representatives of international organizations and their family members, as well as other persons crossing the border on the basis of a diplomatic passport;
  • persons performing work at agricultural enterprises located in the border areas of both countries;
  • persons holding a permanent residence permit or a long-term EU resident card of an EU Member State, an EFTA state — Party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or the Swiss Confederation, as well as their family members (spouses, children) who are entering Poland for the purpose of TRANSIT through its territory;
  • athletes, coaches, doctors, physiotherapists, referees, accredited journalists entering Poland to participate in sporting events and holding documents confirming this from the event organizer;
  • medical workers entering Poland for employment in the healthcare sector;
  • persons crossing Poland’s state border that constitutes an internal EU border within or for the purpose of performing official duties.

Attention! From December 28, 2020 to January 17, 2021, pursuant to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Poland, a number of restrictions are introduced nationwide, in particular:

  • A ban on free movement on New Year’s Eve: from 19:00 on December 31, 2020 to 6:00 on January 1, 2021. The restriction does not apply to persons performing official duties.
  • Operation of shopping malls is suspended. The restriction does not apply to grocery stores, newsstands, pharmacies and hygiene/household chemical shops, hairdressers and beauty salons, and large furniture stores operating in separate premises.
  • Hotel services are suspended. The restriction does not apply to servicing state service employees, medical workers, patients of specialized hospitals, representatives of COS (athletes). Hotels for staff are also exempt.
  • Ski slope infrastructure is suspended.
  • Access to sports infrastructure is allowed only for persons engaged in professional sports.
  • A 10-day quarantine is established for persons entering Poland by organized transport.
  • The ban on unaccompanied movement of persons under 16 years of age is extended (Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:00).
  • The ban on exceeding 50% of seated places or 30% of all places in public transport is extended.
  • The restriction on the simultaneous presence in religious buildings of more than 1 person per 15 m² is extended.
  • The restriction on public events with more than 5 participants not related by family ties is extended.
  • The restriction on the operation of gyms, fitness clubs, and water parks is extended.
  • The restriction on the simultaneous presence in shops of more than 1 person per 15 m² is extended.
  • The established service hours for seniors — 10:00–12:00 — are extended.
  • The restriction on the operation of catering establishments is extended. Orders are for delivery only.
